These Rock‘n Ropes activities are a lot of fun and enjoyable while providing an opportunity for group members to discuss, plan, co-operate and compromise with each other through trial and error. Teams will build trust and support for one and other throughout the day and this will be taken back to the workplace.

Problem Solving

Our problem solving games and tasks are designed to bring your team together and work towards a common goal. The challenges require the team to interact and brainstorm to conquer the problem set forth. These are a great way to get the team working as a whole and support each others ideas or be critical in a positive way. They also serve as a great tool in highlighting certain individuals for leadership programmes.

Low Ropes

This comprises of eight activities conducted half a metre above the ground. The team works through each activity in smaller groups and is then tasked with a challenge at the end. While also being fun and enjoyable, the low ropes course is used to enhance communication skills, cooperation, trust, support and camaraderie, all important components of a successful team.

High Ropes

These activities range from the relatively easy to the most challenging. Physical ability and fitness are not vital constituents of the high ropes course, which caters for all abilities. More important is the willingness to give it a go. The team first goes through 'belay school' to learn to be responsible for each others safety on the course. This helps to strengthen the bond of trust and support between team members.

Hesitant participants (those with a genuine fear of heights) can be slowly worked up to the height.  This instils confidence and trust and enables participants to far exceed their own personal goals.

Certain participants may only complete one activity, others the whole course, this is irrelevant, as long as everyone feels they have achieved something special for themselves.

Corporate Testimonials

Some feedback from those who did it

“I have heard nothing but praise for you and your team... the professionalism, the patience and the safety aspect were excellent.

The personal achievement of so many of our people was quite overwhelming and if it hadn't been for the encouragement from your team most of these people would not have attempted many of the activities.

...We were all amazed at Sau Keng who had polio and the way she managed to climb the highest pole to go on the swing and then the trapeze. Incredible courage.

'Many thanks also for your kind prize to the winning team which I can assure you was consumed with great gusto....'

'... Many of our team were a little daunted by the extent of the ropes apparatus, but the professionalism of your staff really showed through in getting everyone to participate at the level they were comfortable with.

To see people on the highest parts of the course that on arrival said they would not participate is a testimony to your skill and competency. I would not hesitate to bring another team through in the future. ...'

Awesome, amazing, incredible...

What we were looking for was an activity that would involve each individual and have them work together as a team. ... Rock'n Ropes listened to our requirements, left us feeling confident and indeed exceeded our expectations.

Each member of the group was fizzing when they returned. Some were overwhelmed with the fact that they had finally conquered a life long fear of heights! Others commented on how they had enjoyed the spider web activity and how it had challenged everyone to work together. The team also commented that the activities were very professional organised and that safety was paramount. ...'

'... Being a national organisation with sales reps spread from Invercargill to Dunedin it was great to get everyone together and to work on some team building — even better that the team building proved to be so successful.

One month after the conference and I am still getting phone calls from staff who talk about spiders web, (this had a huge impact) and how much they enjoyed the activities. My objectives for the outing were definitely met and the participant's expectations were exceeded! ...'

... My objectives for the day were, simply, to build and create a stronger team.

... We were a group of 37, 70% male, with an age distribution that more reflects the general population and a fitness level that even the most dedicated fitness instructor would find frustrating — I was worried.

...18 of the 37 successfully completed the 'Leap of Faith'. I watched everyone, and while impressed with each confronting their own unique challenge, I was even more impressed by our other 30 odd 'team' members providing energetic and genuine moral support on the ground.

Thank you for your professionalism and your undoubted enthusiasm. You have a wonderful concept that more than achieved my original objectives. It has been a constant talking point ever since, and was definitely a high point of our conference.'

“… As a ‘Team Building’ Day, it was second to none. We were completely out of our comfort zone, (which is what I always want to happen) and we supported and encouraged each other through the programme you set for us. Even more amazing is that some of us are kicking ourselves for not doing more (myself included) … Fantastic!”
